MUFON REPORTS FROM KOKOMO! ! !

Orange Balls of Light

Kokomo, Indiana                    County: Howard
April 19, 2008                              Time: 2:30 AM

My friend and I were sitting on our roof sky watching, because of the night before we had the big bang and I had witnessed the orange balls of lights and knew immediately it was a UFO. Soon enough we witnessed things we had never seen before. At one point in the night I was scared. These things were floating about 1 mile away from us. All we could see were the lights but pictures show actual objects! We saw at least 15 UFO's that night and they were not aircraft of this world. We stayed on my roof until the sun came up.

Fireball and Loud Explosion

Kokomo, Indiana                    County: Howard
April 16, 2008                              Time: 10:30 PM

I was sitting watching TV and heard what sounded like someone jump on my roof but it sounded like they landed with some impact. I ran outside to see if anyone was on my roof and no one was there. I heard there was a lot of police out on our County Road 300N North of Tipton. I had a person tell me the police were looking for wreckage from a plane that might have exploded but they didn't end up finding anything. The news is trying to cover this but it still says unexplained lights and explosion. Note that reports were saying there were no planes in that area either. I try to debunk an incident before I start saying it's a buffo. I might add that the explosion was REALLY loud!!! Someone told me they saw seven white then changing to orange lights in the sky above Tipton and Howard County. They were on there way back from Howard County last night and saw some lights in the sky. I have a feeling that this will be wrote off as an astronomical event, but it needs to be investigated more so we really know what happened.

Orange Balls of Light, Military Jets and the Boom

Kokomo, Indiana                    County: Howard
April 16, 2008                              Time: 9:40 PM

I had my camcorder out and had driven to Jackson Morrow Park to watch for the orange balls of lights (OBOLs). I had seen them again yesterday and the weather was such that I thought tonight might be a good night to see them again. The sun has just gone down after I got to the park. I sat there for about 20 minutes talking to a friend on the phone for about 10 minutes when the OBOL showed up in the northwestern sky. It was about 45 degrees from the horizon and it was REALLY bright! It was HUGE. Like a baby aspirin at arms length. It was a yellowish amber orange color and very sparkly. I grabbed for the camcorder but the OBOL vanished; Just quickly grew smaller and then vanished. And there was NOTHING where it had been. There was enough moonlight that I could have seen a big craft but there was nothing there.

This is what sometimes happens when I have the camcorder. They usually pop in, one by one till 2 or 3 or more appear and then they pop out the same way. This one was the only one. No more came. I knew something was up. Within a few minutes the sky was ABSOLUTELY filled with what I called "fireflies". They were small jet aircraft. I could hear them. They were flying in double "V" formations and they were all over the sky where the light has just been. I watched as they made several sweeps of the area. Three or four would break formation and swing back around toward the south and then make a tight turn back to the north. They did not have their red and green wing lights on but they did have on their strobes, so I could follow them, but it made it harder. That "firefly" effect was crazy! They were EVERYWHERE! More started showing up and I had a hard time counting them or keeping track of all of them! The sky was crawling with aircraft! UNBELIEVABLE!!!! After a few minutes they broke away and started moving to the north in small groups. WHAT A SHOW THIS WAS!!!

I had a weird feeling about what I was seeing. Like something was wrong. Something was up. Something BIG. After the jets left and it seemed as if there wasn't going to be any more OBOL activity, I took my cameras and went home. Once I arrived, I stood outside for a few minutes camera in hand, watching. Waiting for something I could feel in the air. At about 10:10 PM I finally gave up and went in.

I was in my office at home when at precisely 10:24 PM there was a tremendous explosion outside my window. The window shook, my chair shook, my monitor shook, and it sounded like something fell on my roof and then off. (I need to go outside and see if there is anything or anybody laying in my yard!) I thought I had seen a flash of light out the window in my office that faces southwest. It all happened so fast I can't remember if I saw the flash before or after the explosion. I jumped up and ran in to the bedroom and woke my husband screaming, "something is wrong, something is wrong!" I had the hair standing up all over my body. I still do as I write this! About 5 minutes later my son called me from town asking if we were okay?" He proceeds to tell me that a plane has crashed close to our house! I jumped up and ran into the bedroom to tell my husband.

I ran outside to see if I can smell anything or see anything. I didn't. I DO hear dogs howling and barking like mad again. So I go back inside and up to my office to flip on the TV for the11:00 PM news. First is BREAKING NEWS: Explosion in Tipton County at the Howard/Tipton County line! They had a caller from Kokomo on the phone. She said that someone reported seeing two bright flashes of light and then the explosion. The caller said there was MUCH debris strewn about the area. Later they've come back on and said the FAA in Indianapolis reports NO MISSING PLANES!

That explosion had something to do with the military and that bright amber orange light I saw. I SAW the LIGHT! I SAW the JETS SWEEP THE AREA AFTER THE LIGHT DISAPPEARED. There were at least 10 military jets sweeping that area after the light appeared and they were flying without their wing lights on.

Lights Rotate In Sky After Boom

Kokomo, Indiana                    County: Howard
April 16, 2008                              Time: 10:30 PM

I was in the living room watching TV and my husband had gone to bed. There was a huge boom that rattled the front window. My husband asked what the noise was? I went to the front door to see. Off to the west there appeared a large object with lights all the way across it. It reminded me of a hair barrette with lights. It seemed to be hovering, yet the lights appeared to turn. My husband came out to stand behind me just in time to see the lights reappear from right to left until 5 lights were showing, and then it did it for a second time before it disappeared. The lights we saw with the naked eye were yellowish orange in color. If you look on www.WWKI.com, click on the article about the Boom and the bright lights, you will see pictures that someone submitted. The fourth picture down is exactly what I saw when I first looked out. This was no meteor or F-16; they don't hover. We could not take our eyes off of it and my husband, who is a Viet Nam veteran and a retired deputy sheriff, said he had never seen anything like it. We are both certain that what we saw was unidentifiable. The next morning when I went out to get the newspaper at a little after 5 a.m., I looked off into the west in the same vicinity, and there, in front of the moon was a huge v-shaped dark cloud that reminded me of a flower vase with a lot of much smaller jet trails near it.

Investigators note: When she first saw the lights, they were all together, but they seemed to turn. When her husband came to the door the lights began to reappear from right to left, one at a time until they were all together again. They rotated a second time and then they disappeared.  She feels that what she saw was a single large object with several lights on it as opposed to it being individual lights or craft.  She believed she could see rotation. Her husband claims what he saw were not jets, flares or anything else he has ever seen. The whole thing lasted about two minutes but they weren't sure.

The V-shaped cloud she reported seeing was dark and not solid. she felt it was visible because it was in front of the moon.  She also feels that if it was a contrail that it wasn't made by any jet. She did see multiple jet contrails around the large V shaped cloud.

Lights in Sky East of Lafayette

West Lafayette, Indiana                    County: Tippecanoe
April 16, 2008                                        Time: 10:30 PM

I was leaving a building on the Purdue campus and looked east down my street. Before I turned I saw seven evenly-spaced lights stationary in a boomerang orientation in the sky east of Purdue's campus and above the city of Lafayette. They were roughly 60 degrees off the horizon, and lower than most commercial aircraft. I noticed them because they were so bright and I thought they were warning flares being dropped. I watched the far-right light disappear, and a new one appear on the left leg of the boomerang; then a second light follow suit. Then all the lights simply disappeared. In total I saw them on for about 5-10 seconds. They were all the yellow-white color similar to an older car's headlights. No planes were seen or heard, even though I was next to the Purdue airport. The sky was completely clear with stars and the moon visible. I thought they were flares at first but I have never seen flares go out, new ones appear and then all go out in unison (including the most recently visible ones). If they were flares, they would have continued to burn out at a constant rate! Plus they didn't dim slowly enough to be a flare or a firework burning off. The group of lights didn't move through the sky at all, so not a meteor either. I've been hearing the reports on the local news about a loud bang from meteors and military planes in the area breaking the sound barrier that night. If they were military planes with their exhaust ports facing me, then I would really like to know why they would simply turn off without changing color or shape (which WOULD accompany planes flying away from my location at a changing rate). I have good at understanding "atmospheric occurrences", as the news are claiming to be one explanation for this. Yet, I have never seen meteors or other natural atmospheric occurrences look or behave like those lights did.

Orange Light Masses

Kokomo, Indiana                    County: Howard
April 15, 2008                              Time: 11:30 pm

I observed deep amber lights that hovered and finally displaying huge deep amber to orange light masses like they wanted to let you know of their presence. They presented themselves a few minutes before the boom. I ran into the house to see if every one was OK. I was terrified after what I just observed. My first impression was that something crashed or was shot down because I could hear heavy airplane traffic and heavy activity of these amber colored lights. As I was walking back to my back door, I could see off to the west of me in the middle of a field some glowing amber orange lights slowly approaching my house. While I was observing they put out a beautiful display of sequencing with little balls of deep amber projecting off one of them. I was afraid but I captured it on camcorder. MUFON is analyzing my tape at present.

Three Orange Lights Form Triangle Pattern

Kokomo, Indiana                    County: Howard
April 15, 2008                              Time: 9:25 PM

I was traveling North on U.S 31 headed toward Kokomo from Indianapolis. I was just about to the Tipton/Howard County line when I saw a very large, bright orange sparkling ball of light in the western sky. (to my left out the car window) As I watch this bright light, another one and then third one popped in on either side of it. The new two were not as bright and were a little higher in the sky than the very large one. They kind of formed a triangle pattern in the sky. They were approximately 45 degrees up from the horizon. The larger one was about 35-40 degrees up. The larger one was about the size of half baby aspirin at arms length. The other two were about half the size of the bigger one. Just as soon as the 3rd one appeared the three of them made the triangular pattern. They looked like they were just bobbing a bit, in sync with each other and floating there, looking orange and sparkly bright. They popped off one at a time. First the two smaller ones popped out one at a time and then the bigger one faded into the dark. The whole thing lasted less than a minute.

I raced home to get my camcorder and went back out to see if I could see them again. I noticed that when I got home ALL the dogs in the neighborhood were HOWLING and making strange noises, barking like maniacs (it is now nearly midnight and they are STILL out there barking). I did not see anything when I went back out. This is the THIRD time I have seen these lights in just a few weeks time. The weather was nice. Sky was clear, lots of stars, temp was 45 degrees. No wind and no moisture.

Amber Lights Glide South of Kokomo

Kokomo, Indiana                     County: Howard
April 14, 2008                              Time:

I observed deep amber light approaching my house on the east side of US31 and parallel to State Road 26. As it approached County Road 100 west (approximately) I observed another pulsating amber light directly underneath the first one gliding north, parallel to US31. The deep amber light glided toward my home and hovered. I could see beautiful blues and greens and amber with a red light pulsating and it appeared to be rotating. A friend and I went to the west side of my home where high activity has been observed. I counted four lights, 2 stationary at different points, and 2 were gliding south to north at low height. It appeared they were at CR200 West (Dixon Road) or further west around CR350 West. As I was watching one of them stopped midair and hovered low above a house. It dropped about 4 inches visually and rose slowly and continued north. It appeared about 1/2 to 3/4 mile away from my position. They had the same color lights as previous craft. After a few minutes they would return, north to south on or around CR200 West, and when they approached SR26, they would turn on a dime and go back north. It was my impression they were looking for something and reminded me of a hawk, scanning the ground while soaring looking for food. I have been watching high activity for quite awhile. I know they are not planes, flares or anything normal.

Object Wobbling In Neighborhood Sky

Kokomo, Indiana                    County: Howard
April 9, 2008                              Time:

I just came home with my daughter and we were in the driveway getting out of the car.  We were heading towards our house when my daughter looked up at the sky and told me that an object was above our skyline. It was acting weird, not like a airplane should be flying. I laughed and looked up and told her it looked like a plane to me. She said that it was wobbling around like a top or something and not flying straight like planes do. She has seen her brother off many times at the airport, plus, we live in Kokomo, and see lots of planes go towards Grissom Air Reserve base, so she should know. She got upset and bothersome at me and told me to come towards her and look at the object from where she was standing. So I moved more towards her way. I saw what appeared to be small engine type plane, like a 4 to 2 seater. But sure enough, it did have some red and green lights on it. It did appear to be gyrating or the having the wobbling top toy effect and was not flying straight at all.  It appeared to be circular looking. I moved around in the back yard  trying to get a better view. Then I noticed after awhile that it was not moving on out of the area like a regular plane would do. It kind of stayed in one area almost looking like it was just moving back and forth in one spot. After I stared at it for a while it almost looked like it was even rotating and wobbling at the same time. I went inside the house but it was still around the area pretty much in the same spot where it started...weird I thought, decided to report it.

Four Red and White Lights Near Grissom ARB

March 28, 2008                            Time: 9:15 p.m.
Bunker Hill, Indiana                    County: Miami

I went out to my greenhouse and put some wood in the furnace. I was going back to the house walking up the drive heading west. As I approached the walk to the front door I noticed good sized red and white lights through some tree limbs. I stopped to get a better look and thought to myself what kind of airplane is this. I moved to the right a step or two to get a better look at this object. That's when I saw the four red and white lights. I was looking through some large limbs and couldn't get a real good look. I moved to the left three or four steps to get out of the heavy limbs. As soon as I moved to get a better unobstructed view the lights (object?) moved with me so I could get a better look. These lights weren't any higher than maybe 100 ft or so and seemed to be just across the road in the field. This all transpired in a time frame of about 10 to 15 seconds. A few seconds after the lights moved with me they disappeared. The lights just turned off. I didn't see anything or hear anything. The sky was clear with no moon at this time. I live near Grissom ARB and my first thought was an aircraft. After the lights went out I stood and scanned the heavens for something else or the same thing. Nothing happened so I went into the house to tell my wife what I had just witnessed. We were both excited about my experience. I went back out to scan the sky again for about another ten minutes. The lights didn't materialize. However in the direction toward Grissom ARB I witnessed what appeared to be a falling star in reverse. It was just a white light that I observed coming from close to the ground and rising straight up to a good substantial altitude and then disappeared. That night our dog drove us crazy wanting to go outside. He wanted a revolving door that evening. He would go out and stand at the end of the deck and just look in the sky.

The last time that I had witnessed any UFO activity was in January 1968 in Vietnam. Now I am very diligent when I go out at night.

Colored Lights, Change Shapes, Hover

January 16, 2008                    Time: 9:00 pm          (Note: See left sidebar)
Denver Indiana                    County: Miami

My son was coming home from the store around 9:00 pm. Approaching our house from the road he could see an object hovering over our home. As he was turning into our driveway, he was flashing his car lights at the object and it appeared to turn and acknowledge that it saw him. It then flew over to the neighbor's barn. My son ran inside to get us. We went onto the front porch and saw the object. It hovered and then would fly to different places. We observed other airplanes coming into our area around this time and circling above us as if they were looking for the object. This went on for approximately 30 minutes. Most of our neighbors and (as we found out the next day) many people in the county and neighboring towns also observed it. Needless to say, we are a bit concerned. No one reported this to the newspapers? There was nothing in today's papers or on the news despite all of the witnesses!

Lights in Sky East of Lafayette

West Lafayette, Indiana                    County: Tippecanoe
