Shape: Light Duration: One Hour
At about 9:30 pm on April 24, 2007, I was looking to the west when two lights appeared for several seconds and then disappeared. The lights had a red tint and were brighter than a normal star or planet. They were not very far apart, maybe the width of two fingers if viewed from an out-stretched hand. A few seconds later, the same pattern appeared about 30 degrees to the north. I had the sense that no normal aircraft could have covered that amount of distance in that short of time. The lights stayed on for a few seconds and then disappeared.
Several minutes later, a single light was seen for a few seconds. At this point, I went inside a told my wife and daughter. About ten minutes later, another display occurred, which was witnessed by all three of us. This time, there was a larger light, consisting of three segments, plus two small lights to the right of the big light. All lights in the whole episode had the red tint. They always appeared for several seconds and then disappeared.
At their next appearance, the lights seemed to put on the grand finale. At least six lights appeared. They seemed to move. It was an awesome display. I want to see them again.
Six Lights In a Row
Frankfort, IN May 24, 2007 Time: 10:20 am
Duration: 5 to 10 seconds
My husband and I were in our pick up truck southwest of Frankfort. It was right at dusk. Not quite dark yet. We was backing out of a field near a wooded area as I looked out my opened window towards the back of the truck I saw 6 lights in a row in this clouded area near us. The lights compared to a car head light but were a yellow-gold color. They did not move, they were just there for maybe 5 to 6 seconds then they faded away from left to right one at a time. As we backed onto the road I would not take my eyes off of the very spot that I saw them. I saw a very dim outline of a rectangle with the same lights but very dim to the eye. I just saw that for a few seconds and it just faded away. I was relieved to hear my husband say that he saw the lights too.

First MUFON 2007 Report of Lights in North-Central Indiana Skies
Tuesday April 24th, 2007 Time: 10:00 pm
Last night on the south side of Lafayette, Indiana I saw a triangle of lights in the southeastern sky. Thinking they were planes which were too close for safety, I walked out in the yard to get a better view. Suddenly I saw about five lights light up in the bottom half of what seemed to be a circled object. I immediately ran in the house and told my husband to come out and look. When I got back outside, the lights were on for about a 1/2 second and all went off. With no doubt, this is something I have never seen before. I realized I may have seen a unidentified flying object? Below is an image similar to the lights I saw.

Four Star-Like Objects Form Boomerang
Monday May 21, 2007 Time: 10:15 pm
I observed four star like objects moving in the Southeastern sky last night at 10:15pm. They met and formed a boomerang like shape. They brightened and flashed a few times before dimming, then resumed the light intensity of a star. They continued moving about the southeastern sky. Approximately fifteen minutes later the four objects reformed into a boomerang shape, rebrightened and resumed a bright orange intense light which flashed. It was followed by a thunder like sound this time. The lights then quickly dimmed and the four star like objects dispersed in a north-south direction.
Lights In Sky Form Horizontal Pattern
Monday May 21, 2007
While driving to West Lafayette from the northwest- state hwy 52. I slowed down to flash my lights at a truck driver that had slowed to the side of the road. I happened to glance up to the sky to see a series of three lights in a horizontal pattern. They faded to black one after another from left to right. (Extending an arm and flashing a peace sign mid-way between the horizon and straight up, will approximate the distance all the lights were spread out). At the next traffic signal in West Lafayette I happened to drive in front of and pass the truck driver. I got out of my vehicle and asked him if he saw something unusual in the night sky. He replied that he had. I asked him if he would mind turning into the Menards parking lot and telling me about what he saw. He said not at all. He went on to further state that it might have been in the approximate area of Grissom Air Base near Peru. He saw 3 or 4 yellow lights one to the left middle and right. in a straight horizontal line. When they went out, he said they appeared to fade out, one by one. The truck driver and I both confirmed to one another we had not seen anything like this before. The weather was clear and stars were clearly visible.
Orange Lights In the Sky
Tuesday May 22, 2007 Time: 10:00 pm
We are located in Lafayette Indiana in a subdivision near the intersection of HWY 65 and HWY 26. Last night at approximately 10:00 pm, my husband and I decided to walk our two small dogs. We were walking in the direction of HWY 26 east when I spotted two large circles/flashes of light in the sky very near each other--they were light orange in color. By the time I could get out "OMG are those planes on fire?!?", they had disappeared. Then two small specs of white light (almost like distant stars) were seen flashing quickly in the sky in different directions. My husband joked that "Maybe it's a UFO". As we rounded the corner I spotted an adult male and three children standing on their driveway staring up. My husband said "I bet they saw what you saw". I went up to the man and asked him "did you see that?" He said "Yes the UFO's? They have been doing this pattern for about two weeks". He then went on to explain that he has witnessed this same kind of event for the past two weeks from his backyard at night. He stated that generally the two small specs of light come together turn orange and then race away. He said that generally it happens around every 15 minutes or so. As we spoke with him we could see the specs of light (5-6 of them) racing around the sky at what I would imagine to be very high speeds. There were planes also in the sky but they were very self evident as to what they were. We did not stay very long and went back to the house. My husband went outside with binoculars to see anything but did not witness the orange light happenings. The entire event was quite creepy and I really do not have explanation for it. I do not really believe one way or the other in alien life or UFO's but it was very evident that what I witnessed last night was surely not run of the mill plane activity.
Note: Witness to several of the above reports have indicated they witnessed similar activity to their reports on the following evening, Wednesday May 23.
Light and Flash Display (Similar to many recent nearby reports)
Wednesday, May 23, 2007 Time: 10:00 pm
I was walking outside my rural house around 10:30 pm and glanced at the Northern sky. In the northwest, a dim steady light point was moving in an easterly direction. I assumed it was a satellite and followed the light in hopes it was an Iridium flare, a satellite that brightens quickly when it reflects sunlight. I have seen dozens of these Iridium flares over the past few years. After traveling for a few seconds, the light gradually turned north and headed for the horizon. This struck me as very strange, because the curve was too steep for typical plane and the fact that the light had no resemblance to a plane. The light soon died out, much like satellites commonly do. I then heard a jet sound emanating from the direction of the light, but saw no jet. This could be a coincidence.
Next I saw a bright reddish flash closer to the horizon, but where the light's trajectory should have placed it. This flash was like a sudden brightening, similar to a meteor, but slower and more controlled. I then saw two simultaneous flashes and for the next few minutes I saw two flickering lights travel in many directions, usually fading away and then reappearing in a new location, always in the northern sky. The flickers were at first somewhat rhythmic with a double flicker followed by a single, but soon became more irregular. Every so often the lights would simultaneously flash reddish.
The lights next appeared in the north-northeast and traveled westward, one slightly ahead of the other, flashing irregularly the entire time. The front light faded, but as the second light continued westward, the other appeared at the original starting location. This time it traveled eastward, and both were traveling on the same horizontal line. Finally, after a short time (appx. 1 min) of nothing, I saw the reddish double flash occur. This time the flashes were very close together (less than a degree probably) and hooked from left to down to right in a tight arc. After the flash was over, I never saw the lights reappear.
I've been an amateur astronomer for years and have never seen anything like this. I am college education with a background in science and engineering, and I try to logically analyze things. Several reports of near identical situations have been reported out of semi-nearby Lafayette in the past few days. Perhaps this is something military related, but all I know is that I have no current explanation of what could possibly make this light display with the movements I observed.
Venus and Two Lights Moving Toward Indy
May 23, 2007 Time: 10:15 pm
I was checking the house doors when I noticed that the planet Venus was visible again so I went outside to look at in my back yard. I looked at it and the moon which was to upper left of the planet (I presume it was Venus). It was a clear sky and I called my boys down to take a look at a planet. As we were looking my oldest boy said what is that? Of course I said "what" and he pointed to the north our right. We saw two points of light that were spaced apart. The second was flickering erratically and moving fast which I thought was odd. They were both moving fast south towards Indianapolis. The flickering pattern was inconsistent unlike a normal jetliner. The second light vanished and I said where did it go but the first light was still moving. Then the second light reappeared again behind the first but somewhat above and behaving erratically and again the flickering, which I can only describe as like "machine gun fast" and it seemed like it was moving in zig-zag but still behind the first light. I made the comment to my son it seemed like it was chasing it. We watched this for about 10 seconds as they flew south until the trees and our house blocked our view so we ran around to the front but they were gone. We kept looking for 20 more minutes but nothing. We kept saying it must be a plane or something but as we kept looking we saw a normal plane with normal lights and very consistent which was clearly different then what we saw. There was no noise, only white points of light no other colors.
